The town of Omiš and area of the ancient principality of Poljica Republic because of its unique location, natural beauties and culture are exceptional. Omiš developed at the very estuary of the river Cetina as a pirate fortress and the beginning of settlement dates back to the ancient Greeks and Romans.
Steep cliffs and the clear river gave this town wonderful sand and pebble beaches. We are especially proud of the long sand beach in the centre of the town which has a blue flag – a guarantee of clean water, beach and beach facilities. The beach is suitable for children who cannot swim.
Because of its natural environment and the canyon of the river Cetina, the Omiš riviera is extremely suitable for an active holiday.
